Dublin, Ireland, October 23rd 2023
On Monday August 21st Aoife told me that Mike is playing an extra show in Dublin. On Monday the 23rd. Well…… we’re there anyway, let’s go to this one as well. Mike will sort us out again. Thanks so so so much!!!
As you could read, we arrived yesterday. We had a gig in Belfast. This morning we took the bus back to Dublin. Matthew is also coming to this gig. He will bring Anya. I know Anya from our visit to Beamish museum last year. Aoife is also going. She will do both Dublin shows.
I’m awake early. Can’t sleep anymore. Video won’t upload on YouTube. Terrible internet. But phone is full, it won’t upload on my laptop either. Even sending to Ozzy and uploading won’t help. We get breakfast at 7 am. I’ll figure out what to do.
At 8:45ish, we walk towards the bus. The brings us back to Dublin. The bus comes at 9:30. While we wait I could clean up my phone. I think I made enough space. The bus journey will be about 2,5 hours. Might take a nap.
At 11ish we’re on the airport, but the door is locked/closed. People can’t get off the bus 😂🤔🙈 after about half an hour the people could get off, through the back door. These people had to wait half an hour to get off. Why didn’t the driver let them off through that door earlier? We (the remaining passengers) had to remain seated. Why doesn’t he drive further and figure this out when his bus is empty? The back door works … 🙈 why us? Before he drives further, we have to leave through the back door, to another bus. Just before noon we continue our journey.
We “missed” our stop, so we did some sightseeing in Dublin. The bus driver was kind enough to drop us off near Custom house. Then it was a 10 minute walk to the pub where Aoife was waiting for us.
So lovely to see her. She just finished her food. We still needed food. We had a drink all together and just before 3 we went to the hotel to check in. We’re staying at Blooms hotel. It’s just around the corner. We’re a little early, but the room is ready. We’re charging our phone, trying to put the video from last night on my laptop. But for some reason it’s a big struggle. I need space for tonight’s gig. It has to work. Finally I found out how, to make it happen.
At 4ish we go towards the venue to see where it is. And we find a place for me to eat and drink. Ozzy had Fish and Chips earlier. He was stuffed. I only had a dessert. I still needed some food.
Just before 7 we go to queue up, although there is no queue, we formed our own. Aoife knows her way. She helps us. We get to the front again, of course. We were right in the middle, but during the gig we moved more to the right side.
Masterpiece was the support act again. Loved it. He’s a lot of fun.

After the gig, Matthew and Anya left. We got our coats and we met up with Aoife again. We’re going to a bar The long hall pub. Mike had sent Aoife a message after she asked him about plans. I got a message from Cassell. Mike, Cassell, Dan and a few crew members were there. We had a few chats with nearly all of them.
Masterpiece was here as well. We asked him when he would be coming to Holland. There are many requests for him to come to Holland. So probably next year at some point.
This bar was closing. Mike already left. We went to the hotel of the boys to pick Wayne and Max up. Then we went to Whelan’s. We had a few drinks with everyone. We got introduced to Max. Lovely to meet him.
At 2:30ish in the morning we got send back upstairs to a silent disco bar. We decided to leave, Everybody else already left. Time for bed. Night all!
