The Streets in Amsterdam 2024 Part 2

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, July 3rd 2024

As you could read yesterday, this gig got announced on November 21st. Matthew and Anya will join me and Ozzy tonight.

Aoife, Olav and Strange days indeed will be there as well.

At 4am we went to bed last night/this morning. I am awake at 7. Ugh. I’m so tired. I’m getting too old for this haha. After writing the blog from yesterday, and getting the video from my phone on my laptop, I tried to sleep a little longer. I couldn’t tho. The lounge bed wasn’t as comfortable now, as it felt at 4am.

At about 10 my uncle had breakfast and coffee and tea ready. Bless him. We had a little chat. Watched the Simpsons. And we chilled a bit. At 1ish, after the rain, we got our stuff, got on the tram and went over to Aoife. She had been all by herself all morning. Wanted to come over earlier, but it was raining too much.

When we arrived we got Aoife’s key to put our suitcases in her room. We’d meet up after we got back, but when we got back, she was gone. She met up with Cassell. She didn’t pick up her phone. I guess she didn’t want us there 😛 We decided to go our own way. We got a Starbucks. I got a message from Aoife, that we’d meet up later.

When we were at de Brabantse Aap at Spui plein, I got a message from Aoife that she’s in Hoopman. We go there after our drink. We meet up with Aoife and Cassell and have a drink. We have a little chat and a few laughs. We are so tired. We didn’t really want to walk anymore, but if we don’t, we’d fall asleep. LOL

At 4ish, we walk to Leidse dwarsstraat to look for some food. We walk around the block, but it’s early. There isn’t much open yet. We are going to Rancho, an Argentinian restaurant. At the moment that we got our steak, I look outside, and I see Mike. He sees us. We wave and he comes over for a little chat. Looks a bit weird, cos we only have a plate with a steak. Nothing else. We’re waiting for our sides still. That is being served while we have this chat. Then he leaves us, with our food. Still can’t believe we just saw him. Thanks for coming over for this chat (and hugs). He could have waved and walk on, but he came over. I really appreciate that.

When we decide to pay and leave, we got asked if we were in a hurry. Can’t say we are, no. “Would you like a cup of coffee?” Well we’d like a coffee and a cappuccino please”. Thank you!! Much appreciated. We needed that a lot!! We were so tired. Do we get this coffee because we brought people in (except from Mike, he didn’t stay for food)? 🤣 When we arrived there was nobody, now it’s full!

We’re going to Dan Murphy’s. We meet up with Matthew and Anya. They had been to Anne Frank house today and they did a boat trip. At 7 we go to the venue to collect the tickets. This time I got asked how many people I brought with me, so I got the +3, I asked for. Thanks so much Tim for helping me out again! I got a Streets hoody from Matthew and Anya. Thanks so much guys!!! Love you! I love the hoody so much (I nearly live in it).

We met Robert and Charlotte, who were here last night as well. Last night they were on the balcony, but because they saw that we were safe up front, (They noticed us, because we were dressed in orange, hard to miss), they are up front today as well. If you read this, please say hello! I’ve got you on Facebook now tho. Was lovely to meet you both. Aoife joined us. So did Olav. Been talking to each other for years, but never met. It finally happened. His friend Joost, is Mark’s (my hubby) colleague. Small world. Just before the gig started, Strange days indeed arrived as well. I introduced Olav to everyone.

OMG Mike was on fire!! He looked like he really enjoyed himself. WHAT AN AMAZING GIG!!!!

I got the setlist from Art, but some guy ripped it out of my hands. Art said to him “That’s not very nice is it?” and got me another one. Thanks so much!

Baz gave me and Aoife the drumsticks of Cassell which he promised us last night, loads of people trying to grab them. Baz waved them away, then we got them. All these people asking “Can I have one?” We told them “no” and we went outside.

Matthew and Anya are going to their room. Olav left as well. We found a place to sit at Café Mokum. We got the key from Aoife’s room. We picked up our luggage. When we got back and gave Aoife back her key, we walked to the tourbus. We have to catch a train, but we want to say goodbye first.

We see Wayne and Cassell. “Where are you going?” Cassell asked. Unfortunately we have to go home. Gabriel and Keith came outside. They said goodbye as well. Max waved at us. We saw Mike leaving straight to the tourbus. We said goodbye to Kevin. Tim came over for a chat. He thanked us for the support, we thanked him for his help. We spoke to Art, we had a little chat about this rude man, who ripped this setlist out of my hands.

I’ll see you guys at Truck festival. I’ll bring my daughter Roos and my husband Mark.

We say goodbye to Strange days indeed and Aoife. When we walk past Dan Murphy’s, we see Baz and Max and say goodbye to them as well.

Ozzy and I walk to the tram. There is one coming already. At central station we need the train to Hillegom. There is Ozzy’s car waiting for us. I get home at 12:30. I post the blog online from last night. At 2 I go to bed. Goodnight all!!

Oh and Wayne told us a little secret last night. I’m excited. I’m sure it will be announced soon.
