Hamburg, Germany, June 27th 2025

Jo confirmed this on June 20th. Thanks so much for your help!! As Mike’s nephew said before “Everyone needs a Jo in her life”. Or a Ted or a Tim or a Mike.
Ozzy arrived last night already. This morning I get Roos ready for school she goes to school by herself, then I have breakfast with Ozzy. And at 9ish we are on our way to Hamburg.
The NATO summit has been here last week. Anyway the road restrictions were gone since this morning 5 am luckily!! We won’t have a problem getting to Hamburg now. It’s a long journey. 5,5 hours by car.
There is a lot of traffic and we have to stretch our legs a few times. The journey is nearly 7 hours.
Just after 4 we arrive at the parking. This looks like a dodgy neighbourhood, but it feels like home. A bit like Amsterdam. I’m just a little over dressed. There are many sex shops and shows/clubs. But also normal pubs and karaoke bars.
We walk towards the venue. We want to know where it is. When we get there, we see that it’s still quiet. We see the support act, he’s the same guy as in Cologne. We have a little chat. He is a lovely guy. Bulgarian Cartrader is his name.

We go to a bar for a drink. They call their selves the favourite bar of the Beatles. When we finish our drinks we go to BK for some chips. When we finished that, we go to the venue again.

It’s still quiet here, but the doors open in less then an hour time. So we’ll wait here. We see Olly and Baz and more crew getting in. We get a few hugs. After a few minutes we see Gabriel. We get another hug. He loved my huge lighter. He took a photo.
At 6 the doors open. We get inside. Thank you Jo! We got in!! We get to the front again.
I got a message from Mark that my “You think you’ve been buried” tshirt finally arrived.
The Bulgarian support act told us that he would start at 8pm, but they start an hour earlier. His tour manager gives us a fist bump. They are truely lovely. They will come to Paradiso in Amsterdam on November 24th. I don’t think we’re going. We don’t like the music much.

At 8 it’s time for the streets already. Mike sees us, during Cliff, Cassell is filming for Mike. He sees us and waves. And films us.

Another great gig. Mike was so funny again. It’s very warm tho. Luckily Olly got me a bottle of water. Thanks so much!! At the end of the gig I got the setlist as well from Olly. Tim was here tonight, but we didn’t get to see him.

After we got the setlist we went outside. We waited for a little while, we saw Kevin and Gabriel. Gabe really liked my lighter he said. We said hello and had a little chat. They went back inside and their food got delivered.
While we waited we spoke to a few people. Lovely people, but i didn’t want to many to be around.
We spoke to Olly. I thanked him for the water.
After a while Kevin and Wayne came outside. We also saw Baz and a new crew lady Holly. She was lovely. She loved my lighter as well.
We said goodbye and went to a pub. Before we went inside the pub we heard “Links, rechts” from the Snollebollekes, they are Dutch, but we heard the German version. We had a beer. We forgot that we got huge beers here. We sat in a beer garden. There was also a karaoke bar nearby. That’s where the Snollebollekes from earlier came from. We heard someone sing “Let it go” from Frozen as well. Didn’t sound to good, but then again, I wouldn’t do it, so I shouldn’t say anything. Although I joined the song from my beer garden spot. So did the security from the Karaoke bar.
When we finished our drink we walked to the car. It’s only 4,5 hours drive now at this time of the day. After I finish my blog, I’ll go to sleep. I brought my pillow and blanket. I slept for about 3 hours. We arrive at our house at 4 am. Ozzy was very quick.
Time for my real bed. Night all!! Roos woke me up at 8am.
We’re getting ready for Dour festival in 3 weeks time.
great gig, it was worth the long travel
