The Streets in Cologne 2025

Cologne, Germany, June 15th 2025

Yesterday we went to Best Kept Secret festival in the Netherlands. Today we go to Cologne in Germany. It’s father’s day, so we have a very big breakfast with Mark and Roos at Van der Valk hotel in Sassenheim first. Ozzy joins us as well.

When we get home we chill for a bit, cos Ozzy needs that. He has a lot of driving to do. I’m ready to go.

Just before 1 pm we are on our way.  We arrived at the parking just after 4. 

We walked to the venue, to see where it was. we’ve been here before in 2012, but we can’t remember a lot. 

We’re going to get some food. We order a burger and chips from Five Guys.  Leon and his girlfriend Anna come over here as well. We met Leon in Bielefeld back in 2017. They have some food here as well.

It’s a little warm in here. We decide to sit outside. There is a little bit of sunshine left, but the wind makes it a little bit cold. I left my hoody in the car. I regret that decision now. Leon and Anna go back to their hotel. Ozzy and I walk towards the venue. We see Martine, Frederic and their son Thomas. They are looking for food. We’ll see them later at the venue. 

While we’re waiting at the venue, we see Baz we have a little chat. When he’s gone, we sit down again. Leon and Anna arrive, but soon after that we see Wayne and Kevin. We say hello. Leon gets a photo taken. 

At 7 the doors open. Leon stands next to us. And on the other side from us, there is a Dutch couple. They are from Leiden. That’s close to where I live. They were lovely. Didn’t catch their names tho. Hope they get in touch. 

Martine and her family were upstairs on the balcony. They got a photo with Wayne and Kevin earlier.

At 8pm the support act started. Not sure what we’ve been looking at. I’m sure it’s a lovely guy. He had a sad story. I do feel sorry for him, but I didn’t like it much. I liked one song. Something with “sentimental piece of shit”. He was supposed to get us ready for the Streets (not that I needed that), but he almost put me back to sleep. Olly waves at us, that woke me up. Even Ozzy noticed that LOL

At 9ish The Streets start. When Mike sees us, he waves at me. Another great gig. Mike wanted the women, or the people who felt feminine to crowd surf around the edges of the crowd. And in the middle of that, he wanted to join the mosh pit. Don’t ask me how, but he managed to organise that!! Wow!

After the gig, Olly gives me and Leon the setlist. Thanks so much.!!

We say goodbye to the Dutch couple from Leiden. And we go outside. Please get in touch.

We meet up with Leon. And we meet two crazy, funny, lovely, drunk ladies. One of them went crowd surfing, hand in hand with Mike tonight. Forgot their names. They were from Erfurt. Please get in touch ladies!

There was another couple, but we hardly spoke to them, Leon did tho. They told Leon and Anna that they had been talking to Wayne and Kevin. Leon showed them his photo. They felt like idiots, as they didn’t recognise the boys. haha

After half an hour we said goodbye to Leon and Anna, the 2 drunk ladies from Erfurt and the German couple who felt like idiots. And we went back to the car. We were very cold. Couldn’t wait to put on my hoody.

We got home at 2:15. I went straight to bed. I have to wake up at 7, I need to bring Roos to school. Guess I need lots of coffee tomorrow. Glad I don’t have to work for a couple of days.
