Belgium, Brussels, June 22nd 2026

Part 3: After 2 days in Holland, we now have 2 days in Brussels. We take the train, that’s only 2 hours from Schiphol and we booked an hotel next to the train station in Brussels for 2 nights.
Every other week I have to work on Monday’s. Today was a work Monday, but I took today off.
Jo helped us again. thank you so much!!!
It’s going to be 30 degrees today! apply sunscreen, turn and drink plenty!
Our alarm goes off at 7. I have to get Roos ready for school. Her daddy does the rest. We have breakfast, pack our last stuff and just before 8 we leave to the bus stop in Getsewoud by car. When we parked the car, we walk towards the bus stop. The bus is already coming. This goes smoothly. Love it.
Only 20 minutes to Schiphol Airport. We get a Starbucks and wait at platform 5-6. Just after 9 the train arrives. As I said it’s only 2 hours by train. I’ve to go to the toilet, but they seem locked. Not occupied, but actually closed. Damn. But after about an hour it gets unlocked. I understand why it’s closed tho. It’s disgusting. No toilet paper either. Oh dear.
Just after 11 we arrive at the train station. The hotel is next door. The room is t ready tho. We walk towards the centre. We see Kevin. We say hello. Then we walk towards the venue. We see the tourbusses. Everyone (except Kevin) is still asleep.
We try to find the Irish pub where we were back in 2019. O’Reilly’s. That was the one. We have some lunch and something to drink. But it’s very warm outside, we sit inside. We see Tim and Cassell walking by. Probably towards their hotel.
After our lunch we walk to a chocolate shop. I can’t visit Belgium without their delicious Belgium chocolate. Can’t buy too much tho… it will melt.
We walk back, to find a metro, we go to the hotel. Omg there is Mike. Let’s say hello. He is on his way to get breakfast. Enjoy. We go to the hotel. Will see you later.
The metro is only 5 minutes. It stops right in front of our hotel. Perfect. We chill for a bit. Take a shower, charge our phone and power bank. We tried to do a nap,
At 4 we take the metro into the city centre. We go back to O’Reilly’s. The terrace has shade now. We sit outside. We have some nachos and a few drinks.
Wayne walks by. We have a chat and a hug. Then Kevin and Cassell walk by they wave and say hello. Also Gabriel. Kevin walks back he makes a photo of us. It’s usually the other way around. Then Gabriel walks by again. We have a chat and a hug. Then Kevin walks by again. He waves.
We join the queue at 6:30. There is shade now. Still warm tho. Cassell walks by, he waves. Also Baz, Keith and 2 other crew. Baz gives a hug. Just after 7 the doors open. We get our tickets. And we go inside.

We take some water in the way in. We’re up front again. I buy a tour T-shirt. And I join Ozzy again up front. Then it’s time to wait.
The support act Ila is not so nice, don’t like them. Luckily it only half an hour.

We meet 2 lovely guys. 1 is born in Holland, moved to Sweden.when he was very young. The other one is Irish, he’s from a town near Dublin. Both lovely guys.
Just before 9 the Streets start. When the curtain falls, the boys start playing and the bus stop comes in sight, it still gives me goosebumps.
I bought a hand fan 🪭 in Tilburg in Primark, that’s the best €3,50 I’ve ever spend. Mike seems to enjoy it. He came over a few times to use it, or I used it on him.
At the end Roo was waving her hand like a fan, cos there was no AC in the building. So I used the fan 🪭 on her, obviously it was too far away, but she pretended it to be really good.

After the gig Art gave me the setlist.

We went to the toilet and we went outside. We went to O’Reilly, the Irish pub we were in earlier. Most of the boys walked by. Some were saying they were coming to this bar later. But it took a while.
Ozzy got hungry after a while. So he got a burger at McDonalds. When we walked there we saw Wayne, Roo, Kevin and another lady. When we came back, they left. We decided to go back to the hotel. It’s a 30 minute walk. We’d better start.
On our way, we past the tour buses, but also a pub. And most of the boys were there. Cassell and Wayne told us to get a drink. So we did. It was such a lovely evening. But the bar owner started playing The Streets. Everybody left. So did we. And they closed the pub. Oh well. Will see the boys and Roo for part 4 in Brussels again tomorrow.
It’s a 30 minute walk, but it doesn’t feel to bad after a few drinks. At 2is we arrived at the hotel. Good night all. See you tomorrow.
